Born to the house of Los'Furann, one of the few remaining houses of
the children of Cain. The Dunpeal was outcast, wanting to test the
half-breed before destroying it, as the race has began to die out.
Adopted by a respectable human family, living on the content of the
New Dragon, he was raised to become a Kensei, and follower of the empire. Although
things didn't work out this way, passing out during the day, after long
hours of training, and waking buried in the ground with only his head
over the surface of the cool dirt. Finding this strange, he spoke to his
guardians, and learned of what he was, a Dhampire. Growing furious as
they insisted this was what he was, a strange hunger came over him. The
thirst of those of Cain, and the wakening of his true self emerged from
his being.
Killing his guardians, and taking his foster father's sword, he went
to search out for his father, but came across a metallic grey elf. This
elf was hunting at the time, and came across Kerwyn whilst he was
feasting on the blood of a deer. Shivering through his blood, a voice
came from within. The elf was talking to him through the language of his
father. To his surprise, it came natural to him to speak this way.
Living with the elf for twenty years, and training by night as a Kensei,
he also learned many languages. The elf taught him the language of the
ancient elves, the children of Cain, the native tongue of the elf, which
was not an elf at all, but a steel dragon in a hidden form. Though
learning all these languages, he also learned the most important to him.
The common tongue, and the tongue of the Ryu-Wo.
Twenty years training with the dragon known as Strider, Kerwyn became
a well experienced Kensei, and well trained as a hunter. Not the normal
hunter of which most become, but a sacred hunter, a vampire hunter.
While honing the blade of his foster father, and brandishing a leather
whip, that beat him in a village, then feeding on the owner. He set off
on his own again. Hunting those that broke the laws of Cain, and of the
land. As thus, he would roam for two hundred years, until he was to meet
his new lord.
The years seemed to come and go as quickly as a day and night. Taking
many hunting jobs, then shunned for what he was, Kerwyn came to accept
what he was, and came to hate his father. That was, until he met
him. Exactly two centuries since he left the dragon's care, he found his
father searching for him in the dark lands. A new land to the young Dunpeal,
but not to his ancient father, in which knew of the royal family of this
land. The land of the night, and it's people. The only realm to hold
vampires as the leaders of the mortal races.
After a great battle with his father, Kerwyn came to a keep along the
water edge of this land. His flesh wounds healed, but his pride dampened
from the previous events. He entered the tavern his guard up greatly,
and found himself surrounded by what he hated most, Vampires. Vampires,
and mortals eating, drinking, laughing together. Confused by this newly
found place, he remained to learn the ways of this land for a short
time, then found a new foe. Learning that the world was in more danger
than his petty vendetta quickly. with a narrow escape from a beast known
as the Void.
After a few years of learning of the beast, and the new rulers of
this land, he offered his services to the prince of this land, Dracos
Von Nightscape. Not needing his services, and knowing of a few
accomplishments of the Kensei, he consulted his fiancé. With her recent
rescue, she accepted the service of Kerwyn. Learning more from the woman
than he had from the secluded cave of the dragon, he decided it was time
to go to the vampire house in which he was born.
Traveling back to the continent of the New Dragon, he found a brother
in which was born several years after he had gone, although his brother
was a pure blood. Speaking over a heated argument with his sibling, he
was taken to the council of the house Los'Furann. Trials set before
him, he mastered easily with the knowledge he gained over his travels.
Then came the final task. The task was simple, but came with a loss of
something most hold dear. He was ask what his greatest weakness has been
over the time he lived among the mortals. Responding with his sight, and
the numerous accounts of destruction caused by it. The elders of the
council ordered that his eyes removed from their sockets. Stripped in
such a way that they would not regrow.
It has been a year since he has faced the council, and stripped of
his sight, and relieved from his duties for Princess Kristal.
Living as a hermit for most of the year in which has passed, and
believed dead, he returns to the tavern, and begins coping with his new
ways of sight. Hoping one day to return to his duties for the
royal house.
