Flaws

These are an assortment of Flaws you can take in order to define your character. They aren't truly made to hinder game play but to add a uniqueness or a defect that allows a more versatile role play. Defects are used mainly by expert Role Players who like to role play a little challenge to their characters. Flaws can also grant unique Merits as well based on the Flaw. Flaws are also used in the game depending on scenario's and events. You can email staff@everlynnrpg.com in order to get a Flaw. A character can choose up to as 7 points in Flaws just remember you don't really need to stock up on flaws this is an optional Role play tool.

Ageism: A flaw of Age as at times not taken seriously by older character or the appearance of the Character is flawed as a child although they are mature. This flaw means that your character is not older than 18 and can be as young as 14-16 in appearance or maturity. Those of Lv.2 flaw take 2 flaws and are penalize -7 to stat rolls due to child like Appearance and qualities.

Lv.1 16-18 in appearance / Lv.2 12-14

Assault Restrictions: flaw towards attacking Certain people or creatures. This hinders your ability to attack aggressively or at all towards certain Targets. It can be women, children, due to Superiors, or moral/emotional reasons. Due to this you are unable to attack this type of Target and even if you must you suffer extreme guilt and seem to feel resentful for doing so.

Awkward: Know as clumsy you are clumsy and seem to have cultz attacks in the most unreasonable moments. One who is awkward is also known to be low self esteemed and has a tendency making difficult multiple actions. When attacking more than once or evading more than roll a Dex check to see if you don't trip or have a cultz attack. If a 1 is roll on Dex you inadvertently strike the target after falling over.

Awkward Size: This can be that you are shorter or larger than your race and at times are made fun of or ridiculed. Those that are shorter cannot reach most places and take longer to run and escape -5 to escaping. Those Larger are very tall and broad having trouble fitting through doors and are made fun of. They receive a plus 5 to movement due to height. At times Awkward Size can mean well endowed for a woman but are ridiculed of her size when young or tempted at by lechers. It can also mean you are proportioned very skinny as a twig and can only lift half your own weight or rather over weight slightly hindering you of movement at half.

Bane: Certain things you specifically do not like and stay away from. Maybe you dislike pixies and find them annoying so you try to stay away from them. Perhaps those feeble minded. Whatever it may be you stay away from these targets from object to people you kind of stay clear of them either by annoyance, hate, or dislike. If there is an object of your displeasure in the room you immediately leave the room or attack it.

Cannot Talk: You are unable to talk and communicate through sign Language. Event though you may see and write you are made fun of due to not be able to speak. Some times people seen such tragic events they loose their ability to speak. This flaw is used if your character has lost the ability to talk.

Cursed: This is a hindering either by magic or by acts of a greater being. They come in an assortment of troubles and can hinder a target but may grant them a small advantage. All curses should be discussed with the Owner and should not be to highly detailed. This can also occur through bloodlines being past down or in the present by some effect.

Dimwitted: You have a tendency to be um air headed or say the wrong pointless thing in the wrong times. People with this flaw aren't stupid but make the most unsound comments or logics. At times you can make the most logical idea in the wrong event or realize hey she's naked right after she kicked you out.

Distracted: You are Easily Distracted by many a certain thing. Opposite Sex, Wealth, Knowledge, Power, Etc. This flaw is activated by a Trigger of the Flaw making you automatically enthralled and intrigued by it ruining your good sense of judgment due to your high interest. Example Bob the Thief sees a Wealthy Commoner. "Must steal have to steal...got to have his money!!!"

Girl/Guy Magnet: This is a flaw of 3pts and is represent as a high attraction by the masses of girls, guys, or both. For strange reason people are drawn by the character ( Normally Npc fans or admirers) They are fanatics and will even fight another to get closer to the person. This isn't a form of High charisma because this can be a hideous Flaw at the wrong times. Some times rolls of charisma may cause the mob to frenzy after the player shredding their clothes or in some cases draw the opposite sex that the character is not interested in. It's more of a flaw to fate with finding obsessed and awkward people.

Involuntary Changes: This Creates a Merit and a Flaw. A Trigger sets off the form change changing you maybe to an animal, opposite sex, or even worst something venerable. Form Changes are activated by it's trigger and develop a Merit or a Flaw. For Example let's say the player Deviance looses all mp the trigger is Lost of All Mp. When this occurs the Trigger is activated changing his form perhaps to a woman. In this state he may not be able to use his heavy weapons or armor. But gain swifter movements. These changes hinder and grant small flaws and bonus.

Magical Restriction: You can take up to Six Restrictions 1-6 pts of flaw. This flaw causes you to be hindered in magic. You may require to use Magical instruments or rituals to invoke Magic. Perhaps sacrifices to your god to boost your magic power to their max potential. Here's a good Example: Damien is a Phoenix/Red Dragon  that has the Magical Restriction: Damien's wild Magic. When hit or Casting Spell 6 variable Effects will occur to the Spell. Reflect when hit. Reverse when hit or cast. Absorbed when hit. Reverse spell property when cast or hit. Fizzle when cast or hit. Or Magnify the spell hit or cast.

Marked: An Everlynn Defect this would mean your ancestor or you were marked during the wars for Execution or to be killed in the Race Wars. It can also be a Mark of Royalty or a sign of Race difference from that of others. Being Marked means a distinguishing mark that may have importance or trouble to you. Maybe you were branded by a Racial Slayer and escaped and now he hunts you or perhaps Branded as a sign of slavery with a tongue bar with a distinguishing piece making it known you were once a slave.

Not so Quick: A Flaw that hinders the Speed ability of the Character making it noted the aren't to fast for whichever reason. This Flaw decreases Evade 10% and dex checks by -5 this hinders the character speed efficiency.

You're not Powerful: This hinders the effectiveness of attack and power of a character. This causes their ability to Attack -10% and lowers Str -5. this stat prevent them from effectively being strong attackers and people.

You're not Tough: Another Flaw this makes you rather feeble in the dmg department. Weakening your ability to do dmg -5 to both spells and physical. This skill will hinder your effective dmg rate making you rather unable to wound targets highly.

One/No Arm(s): This is a hindering skill that may mean that the person may have lost an arm or both arms during battle or by an accident. This limits your use of weapons or shields as well as perhaps attacking physically. This flaw can be taken and rped as a handicap to those who wish diverse fighting or lost a limb in battle.

Phobia: This can be taken as a minor flaw of 1 pnt or 2 pnts. A Minor flaw is a small hinder to the player some times something comical or a small fear. A Major Phobia may cause a lot of Fear in the character rendering them from certain actions or unable to move. This should be considered and thought out before taking such because such Phobia's can truly hinder role play.

Physically Unappealing: This doesn't mean you are ugly but you may have features that make you physically unappealing. Perhaps Scars, bad smell, slur lips, a physical handicap that makes you unattractive maybe even a  bad habit. These make it difficult to be appealing by others or promote negative reactions from others.

Recurring Nightmares:   A flaw that occurs while your asleep. You seem to suffer from lack of rested sleep due to a recurring nightmare that can be something tragic, traumatic or haunting. These can possibly prophetic dreams fore telling events to come. When you wake each day roll a d30 Charisma if you fail you are hindered by the Nightmare causing -5 to any action due to lack of sleep and the Nightmare disturbing you.

Sensory Impairment: This is a impairments to sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste, etc. Such examples is being near sighted, blind, hard of hearing, tasteless, and the such. These offer a sensory handicap to rp and may very in how you define it impairs you. Although a Sense is impaired the higher it is Impaired the chance you may gang a feet. Discuss this with the owner and know you can take 1-3 pnts as a Flaw depending how bad the flaw may be.

Skeletons In The Closet: This skill is a Dark Secret that if found out the player can suffer humiliation, personal embarrassment, lost of job, arrest, or death. This Secret is so important they will do what is needed to prevent it from being found out. If discovered the Dark Secret can be exposed and can be a difficult hinder to the Character. A Dark Secret discovered can place a strong flaw upon your player such as Wanted or maybe some form close to the Dark Secret.

Unique Character Defect: This can range to 1-6 pnts of flaw the Character Defect is unique to that of the Character and only the Character. Depending how bad the flow depends how hindered the character is. Perhaps a Weak point or is unsuccessful whatever it may be depends on you the player and the placement it can have in the game. This is spoke with or emailed to the owner due to the variability of the flaw. The Stronger the flaw the possibility of an anti to come with it. It depends on you.

Violent: no matter what you are Violent resorting to physical or any forms of hurting which pisses you off or maybe naturally violent in killing. however you take this it directly means as a character you are violent in your actions and responses having to resort to an act of violence as a response or as a form of making a point.

Vulnerable: An advantage point for others you are vulnerable to maybe a certain weakness or Vulnerable by information you know. How it is used depends on you. Vulnerability of dmg types deal double that dmg to the Character or can prove their weakness to giving in. Perhaps seeing small children slaughtered is your vulnerability to charge blindly or woman as a hostage forces you to give up the fight. This vulnerability is a serious handicap and costs up to 3 Flaw points.

Wanted: He or she can be wanted for numerous reasons maybe due to the law, powerful villain, or a Organization. you may have a price on your head by these people and knowledge of you being wanted depends n the points spent in the flaw. The more placed the more wanted. Lv.1 isn't so bad poster of you are up but people ignore them or Lv.6 where there's a 1 million dollar bounty on you and anyone who knows the price on your head will go after you. There's no one rally devoted to getting you but you will have to mask your identity, move regularly, or seek sanctuary in order to avoid detection.

Email all Flaws you would like to staff@everlynnrpg.com and be sure to state the flaw. what you would like if it applies. How many points, What Character, and don't forget to think before taking a flaw. Additional flaws will be added or use the Unique Character Flaw to create your own weakness.
