Other Character Skill Abilities


These are Abilities and Skills that are newer than the old skill of the Previous Game Mechanics. These offer an array of features specifically accessible to Beginning Players and Advance Players. Yet keep in mind that all these have a specific Requirement and therefore can only be obtain if said Requirement is met. Also Transfer Character cannot gain these skills when registering and thus if there is a alternate requirement they must meet those conditions. (Only Transfers from the original Serenade of the Dark Lands can gain these specified skills while registering their transfer)

 

Arcane Shield (25 Exp) < only for Registering Chars or those with at least 10 in Spell Craft>
Descript>
Character gains a +3 to bonus to Ethereal Resistance.

 

Artisan> (25 Exp) <only for Registering Bards or those with at least 10 in Perform>
Descript>
Character Bard gets +3 to Perform when using Bardic Abilities.

 

Blood of the Snake> (Exp 50) <Must have taken Resist Poison>
Descript>
Character is immune to Poisons that are a Difficulty of 10 or lower. Versus a Higher Difficulty the Character gets a +5 to resist.

 

Brew Magic> (25 Exp) <Only those with a Craft Skill of 10 Specified to Brew Potions and has Magic can use this skill>
Descript>
The character can create potions of any sort as long as the pass the Difficulty of 10 and have containers for their brewed spell. Assistive and Curative Spells are drunk where Harmful or Status Effect brewed spells should be in glass vials or bottles to be thrown at an enemy to cast the spell. This eliminates having to cast a spell since its been cast.

Beginners get +2 to any Lore Check

 

Craft Magic Device> (Exp 25) <Spell Craft of 10 and can cast Magic can use this skill>
Descript>
The character requires the materials of paper in order to craft spells onto scrolls. Gems will be required with wood to make wands and for staffs both gems, wood, and other material may be needed to make them.

 

Craft Accessories> (Exp 25) <Craft of 10 + Specified in Making Accessories>
Descript>
Specified Material will be needed to make Accessories depending on its purpose.

 

Divinity> (Exp 10) <Only Registering Clerics can gain this skill>
Descript>
Beginning Cleric Types gain +3 to their Prayer Action.

 

Defender> (Exp 10) <Only Registering Characters or those with a +5 DR>
Descript>
When stating to Defend a character can make attacks on his attacker during their attack at a +5 to Dodge. This is good in interrupting multiple attacks while defending.

 

Empowered Magic> (Exp 25) <Only Registering or Advance Characters with Spell Craft 10>
Descript>
This ability doubles the numeric result when a spell is cast (dmg, healing, targets, rounds, etc.)

 

Extra Songs> (Exp 25) <Only for Registering Bards and those with at Least 10 in Perform>
Descript>
When any Bard type profession uses their ability they may perform another at a -2. This allows a Bard to perform two abilities at a time.

 

Expert Disarm> (25 Exp) <Requires the Disarm Skill>
Descript>
When a character attempts at disarming they gain a +2 with this skill.

 

Expert Parry> (25 Exp) <Requires having the Parry Skill>
Descript>
When a character makes an attempt to parry they gain a +2 with this skill.

 

Expert Block> (25 Exp) <Requires having any Block Skill>
Descript>
When a character makes a block they gain a +2 with this skill.

 

Expert Combatant> (25 Exp) <Requires an ATR and Dodge of +4>
Descript>
When a character some times need that extra hit or evade they can state using Extra Combatant Skill. They can take from either their ATR or DR and add it to the other. For example a character can take his +4 Bonus to DR and add it to his ATR Bonus increasing his hit. However this would empty is DR leaving himself vulnerable to having a poor Dodge Ratio. So you can get either one heightened at the cost of decrease another so it depends when the situation calls for it.

 

Focused Skill> (25 Exp) <Any can acquire this skill as long as the skill has no ranks in it> >doesn’t work on Abilities<
Descript>
Choose a Basic Skill listed in the Skills Page that you have no Ranks in. The skill will automatically have 3 ranks and can exceed pass the Max 20 Ranks. However this cannot be used in Skills that you have already gained Ranks in and can be taken multiple times to represent different focused skills.

 

Focus Magic> (25 Exp) <Must be able to use Magic and a Spell Craft of 10> Descript> The character who uses magic must specify a Spell Type or Profession. Example> Aurora Specifies in the School of Curative Spell or Grandee Specifies in the use of Fire base spells. When this is done a character gains a +4 bonus to the specified type when casting.

 

Golden Eyes> (10 Exp) <Only Registering Characters and those that are of Rouge type profession can use this skill>
Descript>
This gives characters a +2 in Appraisal

 

Heroism> (Exp 25) <Only those who are Registering can Acquire this>
Descript>
Character with this skill gets +2 to any Action

 

Long Performance> <Only Bards with a Perform of 10 can acquire this skill>
Descript>
The Bard type profession ability numeric value result doubles. Like damage is double, effect is double, targets, etc..

 

Resist Poison> (25 Exp) <Requires a Resist of 4 or an E. Resist of 4>
Descript>
Characters gets +2 to Resist Poison

 

Ritual Cast> (25 Exp) <Requires Spell Craft of 10 and can use Magic)
Descript>
Some spells cannot be cast unless you know how to cast them in their proper form. This teaches you how to cast using Ritual Spell Casting. This is free for Spell Casters who do summons or any spells that require a Ritual.

 

Silent Cast> (25 Exp) <Requires a Spell Craft of 10 and can use Magic>
Descript>
Character can cast spells with out requiring the speaking component yet must still guide the spell using their hands. They can word the spells in their mind.

 

Static Cast> (25 Exp) <Requires a Spell Craft of 10 and can use Magic>
Descript>
Character can cast spells with out requiring their hands as components to guide the spell. They can guide the spell with their eyes.

 

Spell Aura> (25 Exp) <Requires a Spell Craft of 10 and can use Magic>
Descript>
Character can cast spells with out using their eyes and can see with closed eyes the aura of a target. Hostile would seem red, friendly in green, and those of your party members are in blue.

 

Specialize> (25 Exp) <Requires and ATR of +4>
Descript>
Characters specializes in a particular Weapon and gains a +4 Dmg Bonus when using that weapon.

 

Tough Hide> (50 Exp) <Requires ATR of 6, a DR of 6, and a Resist type of 6>
Descript>
After constant battles and training the muscle and skin thicken giving a character a -2 to damage when they are hit.

 

Terrorize Enemy> (50 Exp) <Requires Specialize>
Descript>
When you specialize a Weapon you may take this skill to choose a favorite enemy you like to terrorize. When you do the weapon you specialize in will deal +2 hit and 4 Damage to that enemy including weapon damage. You can take this multiple times as long as you specify a weapon you like against an enemy you favor.
