Akojin, Subclass of Demon
There are many forms Akojin can be but the most that are known are the fox, cat, dog, turtle, and raccoon. There have been in some cases that their have been wolf demons as well as panther demons in the Akojin Family but they are rarely seen preferring to keep to themselves in the wild. The other demons that serve the Akuma are mainly that of insects, arachnids, vicious serpents, vicious reptiles, vermin, and aquatic monsters. These are the enemies of the Akojin who have longed for centuries to have the Shangri-La that once was formed centuries ago. Because of the many different Akojin they share but little in common except for their demon heritage. They live among their own clans and never disturb or cause crime in another Akojin clan. When entering a domain not of their own they kneel on both legs and bow low offering a small speech of respect to the ones who may own the domain that they are now entering. This action is normally sensed by other Akojin close by as means of respect. Akojin vary in height, hair, eyes, and skin color. Of coarse there are male and female species and all clans strongly believe in matting with their own kind though some times one breaks the laws and breeds with a human. This is highly forbidden and seen as treason among the clans of the Akojin. The Demon war began because of the half breeds created and most elders fear to see the War Begin again after such a long time of peace and rejoice. Racial Abilities by Type Natural Weapons> Akojin Children have Natural Claws, Bite, Tails, Horns, and Wings. The claws are normally 2d6 +4 due to their abnormal strength and their Bite is d4 +4 when used to bite a creature. Their tails are at times not very thick and prove useless to slam anyone but because some Akojin have a barb or spikes on them it can serve as a third weapon such as a whip attack of d4 +2. The Akojin’s Horns are normally used for head butting or Goring opponents offering a d4 +6 Attack when applied. However the horns are never long or big enough to toss an opponent aside. The Akojin Wings are not necessarily to grant them flight since they are not strong enough for such actions but they can glide in the air similar to Gargoyles in Flight. They’ll need enough air current and a movement of 4 to get a jump into the wind starts the gliding but only if the wind conditions permit it. Aura of Demon> When some one detect evil or uses empathy they can sense some type of small evil emanating from the Akojin due to the demonic blood with in them. This detection isn’t as bad depending in the alignment of the Akojin. True Sight> Due to their supernatural bloodline Akojin’s can see past Illusions of a single target as well as see apparitions and anything of the supernatural realm as if normal. This is a unique ability to see pass the illusions or inability to see that of the supernatural world. Supernatural Damage> A Akojin like a demon can deal their Natural weapon Damage to any supernatural creature whether it was a ghost or something immune to physical attacks. This is because their demon blood is a supernatural essence infusing them with yet another gift. Sense Aura> A Akojin much like a Demon can sense Aura’s by smell. This is an automatic feature when stated and can sense not only the race but if it is Magic and what alignment the target is. This is effective to a Radius of 5ft x Reflex making it an average radius to sense a target. Nekojin These are the cat people of the Akojin and are highly skill like Nepharians. In reference to their abilities a Nekko gain the abilities similar to a Nepharian. They are also divided into two clans the Nekko Tribe and the Panther Tribe. These tribes get along fine but tend to squabble who is the better feline. Nekojin appear more human with cat eyes, tails, and ears. As the Panther tribe appear more animalistic and walk as if upright panthers. +2 to Listen Checks +2 to Sight Checks +2 to Athletic Check referring to Climbing or Jumping. +2 Movement added when walking, running, or charging. +2 to Acrobatic Checks when applied to Jumping or Balancing. +2 to Stealth Cat Walk> When on stealth Nekojin gain +4 to Stealth and cannot be heard by human ears but anything with heightened senses such as Listen or a listen Check Difficulty 16 can hear them.
Kitsune The Fox race of the Akojin are known to bring mythical lore and fortune. They are distinguished as beautiful people with fox tails though their more animal people appear as upright walking foxes with nine tails much like myth would state. Kitsune are swift on their feet and swift in their wit being very wise.+2 to Listen Checks +2 to Sight Checks +2 to Athletic Check referring to Climbing or Jumping. +2 Movement added when walking, running, or charging. +2 to Acrobatic Checks when applied to Jumping or Balancing. Light Footed> Kitsune have equal size small feet that distribute evenly. When running on loose, sandy, snowy, or somewhat slippery surfaces they suffer no penalty when running on these surfaces being well balance. Their feet either in human or in Kitsune form are rather even and offer equal footing for them to avoid slipping. Hachiko The dog race of the Akojin they tend not to get along with the Nekojin and tend to dispute a lot among their territories. They tend to be a combination of Dog and Wolf though the clans of Hachiko are divided among the Wolf Clan and the Dog Clan. Having had series issues among their leaders and live in different places with in their territories. +2 to Listen Checks +2 to Sight Checks +2 to Athletic Check referring to Climbing or Jumping. +2 Movement added when walking, running, or charging. +2 to Acrobatic Checks when applied to Jumping or Balancing. Howling> Once per battle a Hachiko can send a deafening howl that sends fear to its opponents. They must make a Resist Difficulty 14 or be afraid and deaf for d4 rounds and suffer a -2 penalty for the remainder of battle. Tanuki Unsure if they are the dog or raccoon race but state they are raccoons the Tanuki appear only in a raccoon form that walks upright. Short ranging about 4’5” they are the dwarf size of the demons. They appear well at day but in the shadows of the night are sly and crafty people. They tend to be great in bringing news and running messages. +2 to Listen Checks +2 to Sight Checks +2 to Athletic Check referring to Climbing or Jumping. +2 Movement added when walking, running, or charging. +2 to Acrobatic Checks when applied to Jumping or Balancing. +2 to Stealth Stone Tanuki> In some lore and hearth wisdom a Tanuki can turn to an impenetrable stone statue that can mask itself as a disguise. This is more likely the changing color of their fur to blend into objects when they are in danger. When a Tanuki blends to any stone surface it appears like a stone statue. To spot the Tanuki a Disguise check Difficulty 15 must be passed or to them it is just a statue. If the Tanuki is touched their cover is blown since they only appear as a statue and don’t feel like one. Japonica Some times mistaken for the Kappa a Neo Ryuu demon that stalks the water and rivers waiting for unsuspecting humans to consume. The Japonica appears as a turtle with human legs and arms but the feet have but two toes and the hands but three fingers. It adorns a very interesting shell that is prized well as a shield or body armor but to it its part of its body. Japonicas inhabit rivers and protect the waters of Neo Ryuu from Demons that would cause harm to it. They support the agriculture of a fisherman’s life by help preserving the waters though not an evil demon there have been few that were hotheaded and badly tempered in past records. +2 to Listen Checks +2 to Sight Checks +2 to Athletic Check referring to Swimming. +2 Movement added when walking, running, or charging in water +2 to Acrobatic Checks when applied to Balancing. Shell Back> Just like a turtle the Japonica has a hard durable shell that works well as Armor. It can reduce 50% of any form of damage because of its shell. Also any sharp weapon looses a -2 to their damage roll since it is hard to cut through the shell. But also anyone bashing the shell with a blunt weapon Receive a +2 to their damage roll. A Japonica cannot hide with in its shell for some reason like a turtle but has a rather durable shell compared to turtles.
