Avians
Of all Races in the world Avians do not get along with Demons because
they assume them to be of the evil creation of Darshe the Destroyer and they of
the Creator’s Holy touch. The most common reason is that Avians appear like
Angels to some races especially the Demons. Of most Dark Ethic demons an Avian
is a well kept servant and prize some times burden to be a flying messenger if
not worse hence why Avians stay their distance from Demons as much as they can
when they see one as to avoid any unnecessary trouble. In Travel Avians wear light armors and weapons in order to travel through
air since it is their quickest escape and sure fire way of attacking. Because of
this Avians avoid getting into close Melee combat and prefer Range attacking be
it spells or Archery. Of all Classes and professions Avians enjoy the art of
Archery as well as Casting. Most Avians, like humans, come in a diverse set of
heights, hair, eyes, skin tones, and yet all seem to be either of build or
athletic build. You rarely see an Avian highly overweight due to the fact they
must be able to use their wings in order to gain the advantage of the air. Natural abilities of Avians are their wings utmost and their keen sight.
Unlike human eyes an Avian can see twice the distance of a normal human (Average
of 50 ft). This makes them better archers and almost equals to elves. Because of
this Avians tend to take Archery highly and coming to range spell casting they
stick with what is common to them which is Air or Wind type magic. Hence most
Avians tend to become wizards of the skies and use devastating wind and
lightning spells to harm their foes. Avians are rarely known to eat red meat
though they can if they so desire but stick strictly to Vegetation and Fish. The
bone structure of an Avian is not as dense as a normal human since they must be
light in order to fly. The bones are built lighter than the thick bone used in
humans but still equally as durable as human bones. Because of this they are 50
lbs lighter than normal weight allowing them to carry Minimum weight loads. Thus
Avians tend not to wear Heavy Armor or carry heavy weapons to avoid any dangers
of flying.. Race
Abilities Gift of
Flight: When an Avian chooses he or she may take to flight at will as long
as conditions allow them enough running space.
Avian must take a movement of 4 in order to reach into the air. This
requires a turn during combat or is instant when there is none. Once done the
Avian is at 10ft off the ground or where they began flying. Each Movement of 2
allows them to increase their Height and distance 5ft in the air and moving.
These conditions are required to be met in order for an Avian Elf to fly. There
must be room and running space for the Avian to take flight and at least some
wind for them to take flight. If there is no wind every 4 Movement a Avian flaps
their wings to take to flight a Power Check at a Difficulty of 10 must be made.
If the Avian Scores under they loose d4 Temporary Power. If the score drops to 1
Power the Avian grows tired and can no longer flap their wings. Exceptional
Sight: Avians gain a +4 to any Sight Checks made and it being a natural
bonus does not hinder to their max ranks and permits to add on even when 20
Ranks has been met. Flight
Skills: Avian get a +2 ATR and DR Bonus when combating in the air than on
the ground however when on the ground they do not gain this bonus since things
are different when fighting on the ground. Favorite
Armor: Light Armor is but the only Armor aside from Medium Armor Breast
Plates that an Avian can wear due to their constant use of their Flight trait.
This is to prevent them from weighing themselves down and be able to take to the
air when needed. Armors such as Heavy Armor or Shields will also cause a -2, for
each type, reduction in any actions done during flight due to its encumbering
effect and weight. Favorite
Weapon: Range weapons where they can fly for some distance from their target
and attack them with. This can be throwing weapons, Range Weapons such as Bows
and Cross Bows, or weapons with reach. These types of weapons offer a +2 ATR for
the Avian Elf since they can use them effectively in Air Combat. This consists
of throwing Weapons, Bows, Cross Bows, and Pole Arms. Slam Attack: At any moment an Avian can make a slam attack with their weapon when flying. This Attack deals +10 more Damage but there is a problem if they miss the target. If the Target is in the air they must make a Reflex Check Difficulty 12 or continue to pummel downward having lost their balance in flight to recover stability. But if the target is on the ground they must make a Reflex Check Difficulty 16 to avoid hitting the ground and land or else suffer Damage as if falling from the Falling Chart. Air Speed> Avians can fly at speeds of 20 – 90 mph making them fast flyers especially when the conditions are perfect for fast flying. But keep into account if a Avian hits something at these speeds you must state how fast you are going to fly or the Host will have to assume you are flying at maximum speed unless other wise. When crashing into targets it is the MPG Chart that deals you damage if you hit a sturdy target or structure. Aerial Dodge> Avians must make Reflex Checks when dodging or weaving through structures at a Difficulty of 12 when flying at speeds of 20 MPH however The Difficulty increases +1 for every 20 MPH faster the Avian goes in flight. When Dodging Missile or Projectile weapons a Dodge Ratio Check is made as if in combat.
