Avian Elves

Far in the cities of the skies known as floating continents lives the flying Elvin race Avian Elves. They are Elves whom were blessed with wings and have the gift of flight. Avian Elves are like any other Elf with some gifts but mainly known for their sharp attractive wings. Avian Elves tend to live in the forests or cities of the floating continents which are safe from attackers of the lands. Avian society is like any Elvin society with its Aristocrats as well as Renaissance type architecture and Art. They are a race that enjoys delving into history and knowledge finding the past as well as the world intriguing. It is rare to find an Avian elf landing down upon the Lower lands of Everlynn and rarely care going to the under grounds. They tend to travel alone unless with a group for safety and are skilled in Aerial combat as well as Archery.

Avian Elves tend to have large wings that support them and what they must carry. These large wings come in a multitude of different colors and shades. The wing spans tend to be that of 12ft wide and furl to their back easily and flat like a bird would to its body. The reason for such large wings is for them to travel from Floating Continent to Floating Continent in great winds of the skies. They appear to have tan skin slightly due to how much closer they are to the sun. They are known to enjoy art and please highly to be neighbors of the Syrians whom they share the skies with. The only enemies they have are birdmen a savage air race that look to be human but have the head of a bird and wings of a bird. They also do not take likely to Harpies at all or any other flying monster.

Avian Elves stand as tall as 5'4" to 5'9" and their skin tone is tanned. Their hair, eyes, and wing colors vary for each Avian Elf. They also tend to wear armor and gear outfitted so that it does not prevent them from using their wings and is light. They favor to fight in the air rather than combat on the ground. They have many advantages to fighting in the air and are very well known for their advantages. They are a simple people and do not tend to bother with the affairs of those on the ground knowing that they are safe from those who would dare bother about war and such.

Race Abilities

Gift of Flight: When an Avian Elf chooses he or she may take to flight at will as long as conditions allow them enough running space.  Avian Elves must take a movement of 4 in order to reach into the air. This requires a turn during combat or is instant when there is none. Once done the avian Elf is at 10ft off the ground. Each Movement of 2 allows them to increase their Height and distance 5ft in the air and moving. These conditions are required to be met in order for an Avian Elf to fly. There must be room and running space for the Avian Elf to take flight and at least some wind for them to take flight. If there is no wind every 4 Movement an Avian Elf flaps their wings to take to flight a Power Check at a Difficulty of 10 must be made. If the Avian Scores under they loose d4 Temporary Power. If the score drops to 1 Power the Avian Elf grows tired and can no longer flap their wings.

Acute Hearing: Upon a Listen Check Elves gain a Natural +4 that does not hinder them in maxing out the skill Rank but does give them an advantage.

Sensitive Touch: No matter what you can tell each and every detail of an item, object, or person. This Sensitive touch all works as an extra sensory when the Elf is touching a Surface it is like a photogenic memory to recall the detail and design of an object with their touch sensory ability. Of coarse an Elf can adjust this sensory touch so as to not overwhelm them with any other touch application.

Exceptional Sight: Elves gain a +4 to any Sight Checks made and it being a natural bonus does not hinder to their max ranks and permits to add on even when 20 Ranks has been met.

Flight Skills: Avian Elves get a +2 ATR and Dr Bonus when combating in the air than on the ground however when on the ground they do not gain this bonus since things are different than fighting on the ground.

Favorite Armor: Light Armor is but the only Armor aside from Medium Armor Breast Plates that an Avian Elf can wear due to their constant use of their Flight trait. This is to prevent them from weighing themselves down and be able to take to the air when needed. Armors such as Heavy Armor or Shields will also cause a-2, for each type, reduction in any actions done during flight due to its encumbering effect and weight.

Favorite Weapon: Range weapons where they can fly for some distance from their target and attack them with. This can be throwing weapons, Range Weapons such as Bows and Cross Bows, or weapons with reach. These types of weapons offer a +2 ATR for the Avian Elf since they can use them effectively in Air Combat. This consists of throwing Weapons, Bows, Cross Bows, and Pole Arms.

Air Speed> Avian Elf can fly at speeds of 20 – 90 mph making them fast flyers especially when the conditions are perfect for fast flying. But keep into account if a Avian hits something at these speeds you must state how fast you are going to fly or the Host will have to assume you are flying at maximum speed unless other wise. When crashing into targets it is the MPG Chart that deals you damage if you hit a sturdy target or structure.

Aerial Dodge> Avian Elf must make Reflex Checks when dodging or weaving through structures at a Difficulty of 12 when flying at speeds of 20 MPH however The Difficulty increases +1 for every 20 MPH faster the Avian goes in flight. When Dodging Missile or Projectile weapons a Dodge Ratio Check is made as if in combat.
