Demons

Demons are said to have once lived side by side with mortals in a balance utopia with the human race. This legend dates back far into the past even before the War of the Gods making some ponder if Demons were once like humans since some share human traits or forms. However it is in Demonic History that during the War Demons once populated the Dark Lands and Neo Ryuu living in harmony setting aside their differences. Yet a tragedy occurred when the Black Queen, high royalty of the Demons Race, was ousted from her thrown by a Rebel Force called the Legion of the Akuma and the Army of Ashier who both disagreed that living with the humans and mortals was a disgrace since they were far more superior to the humans. Demons fought amongst themselves but the God known as Renard during the War of the Gods looked only once at these creatures and began to commit genocide to their race in order to cleanse the world of their actions.

Many Demons were innocently killed by Renard’s attempt to stop the Demon Wars hence many have little care or very much have hate for that of the Light and Holy men. Those of the Ashier Clan lived deep in the subterranean surfaces of the world in fire lava filled areas some times offering their service to the Fallen Prince who feel from the creator’s light. These are known as the common Demons that tempt and give all their time to ruin mortal lives. The Clan of the Akuma was long said sealed and defeated in the continent of Neo Ryuu by the old prince Ryuu Wo of the 16^th Dynasty of Hajikata Watsuki period of the last great Samurai. These were the last now records to both Demon and mortals of the only remaining Evil Demons of the world Everlynn.

Demons in the world of Everlynn are not as evil as one would state though many holy books and scriptures would state other wise. Like Humans Demons have emotions as well as some type of alignment. But because of Renard’s acts very few seek the righteous path of being a Crusader or a Hero many prefer to be neutral with a sense of justice or a rebel. Some actually are Dark Hearted or a Villain but in rare cases some can be purely evil with only the intent to destroy mankind like the last two great Evil Demonic Villains of the past century. To avoid ridicule and pursuit by angry mortals Demons fled to their own world with the grace of Setsuna the Dark Goddess. This realm is called the Dark Realm a complete opposite in appearance of the Dark Lands known as Noctura. Demons are able to come from the Dark Realm to Noctura being one of few places they can visit with safety. The other is Neo Ryuu where Ryuu Wo permits demons to live in clans and their own villages with the respect that as long as they do not disturb the populous he guarantees the populous will not disturb them. Ryuu Wo of the 21^st Dynasty in the Sui Lang Period named after his Sister who died in battle as a Martial Artist and Warsong is attempting to rebuild the Shangri-La of the ancient time where demons and mortals co-exist in peace.

In appearance the Demons of the Dark Lands much resemble those of most lore such as Succubus and Incubus as well as that of Humanoids with animal or supernatural properties. The Dark Land Demons known as the Clan of the Black Queen appear to be of many skins and colors with horn some times like bulls, rams horns, or just a simple single pointed horn. They appear as two types one is the human appearing demons such as succubus and incubus who appear partially human yet have claws, horns, wings, and a slender tail these are the Sudekai who tempt mortals not to destroy or wound them but they live on the life force of others in order to remain alive. The other are more animal like appearing human but with hooves for feet and horns of Rams and Bulls. These demons are known as Kurai those with a beast in them unlike any ever seen in which they use as Warriors being a race of Demons of Honor and Warriors Pride. The Waku tribes are demons that live in the swamps of both the Dark Lands and Dark Realms and some times think themselves as aristocrats of the demon race. They spend hours on experiments and hold balls if not tourney’s of the wit to challenge one another. They are some times mistaken as vampires with their rows of sharp shark like teeth and what people mistaken as cornrows on their heads are actually tendrils they use to sense the smell and electric auras in the air. The Akojin are the demon race of the Green Lands of Neo Ryuu these people appear like humans but with animal traits such as eyes and ears of animals. There are so many to classify but there are a few known such as the cat demon race, dog demon, race, turtle demon race, fox demon race, and lizard demon race. Not all will appear human at first some are naturally born to look humanoid but of their people. Each has their own special trait as well as their own special powers.

Basic Abilites

Natural Weapons> Demons have Natural Claws, Bite, Tails, Horns, and Wings. The claws are normally 2d6 +4 due to their abnormal strength and their Bite is d4 +4 when used to bite a creature. Their tails are at times not very thick and prove useless to slam anyone but because some Kurai have a barb or spikes on them it can serve as a third weapon such as a whip attack of 2d4 +2. The Kurai’s Horns are normally used for head butting or Goring opponents offering a 6d4 +6 Attack when applied. However the horns are long and big enough to toss an opponent aside. After a successful gore attack with the horns the Kurai can make a Power Check Difficulty 16 (+2 for a category size larger than them) and toss the opponent aside for extra 2d4 damage. The Kurai do not have wings therefore are unable to fly but are excellent runners and jumpers.

Sense Aura> A Demon can sense Aura’s by smell. This is an automatic feature when stated and can sense not only the race but if it is Magic and what alignment the target is. This is effective to a Radius of 5ft x Reflex making it an average radius to sense a target.

Aura of Demon> When some one detect evil or uses empathy they can sense some type of small evil emanating from the Kurai due to the demonic blood with in them. This detection isn’t as bad depending in the alignment of the demon.

True Sight> Due to their supernatural bloodline demon’s can see past Illusions of a single target as well as see apparitions and anything of the supernatural realm as if normal. This is a unique ability to see pass the illusions or inability to see that of the supernatural world.

Supernatural Damage> A demon can deal their Natural weapon Damage to any supernatural creature whether it was a ghost or something immune to physical attacks. This is because their demon blood is a supernatural essence infusing them with yet another gift.
