Gaian

The Gaian race is a band of Wolf People who follow the Planets call following and worshiping the goddess Gaia and the Goddess of Nature. She has blessed the Gaian race as the protectors of Earth and of the Nature of the Planet. Gaians are seen as friendly and sociable individuals and yet many mistaken them for their Brethren turned during the War of the Gods the Dark Talon who became diseased and can pass their illness known by humans as Werewolves. Because of this mistaken identity Gaians are mistakenly attacked and shunned by few of the people of the world. Humans treat them as monsters as some Dark Races, such as Demons and Vampires, despise them. One as such is the Vampire Race whom seems to despise them with utter hatred due to the wed lock of a Vampire and Gaian long ago. Since the times of the God Wars both have never allowed the intermixing of their species and on sight due battle when one has entered their domain.

Gaians have two mortal enemies which are their turned Brethren the Dark Talon and the Vampire race. Yet their hatred to their Brethren is stronger than Vampires who are merely opponents who won't leave them alone if seen. Because of this Gaians keep to the woods safe and away from civilization though few clans or individuals have lived peacefully in some societies civilized by man. This is due to the fact a Gaian can’t transform to a Human form. This offers a great means marking their identity. Gaians but have Two Forms their Guardian Form and their Dire Form. Gaians are a Wolf Race that take the forms of Wolves but can transform to a humanoid wolf form or a Dire Wolf Form. They are only capable of changing to one of these forms but are categorize as their Guardian or Dire form. A Wolf that is born in the sanctuary of the woods away from cities or influences of the cities tend to only be a wolf and change into a Dire Wolf form as their supreme form. Gaians Born in the Form of a Humanoid Wolf can change into Guardian forms which are more larger and primal versions of themselves.

Due to their challenge with their Brethren the Dark Talon giving them a bad name a Gaian is considered Marked by human and vampire society making them easy targets. If a Gaian is spotted by a Vampire or a Dark Talon who can smell and sense them they immediately attack them and more than likely be attacked by all those there. But if seen transformed before a crowd will cause hysteria as well as a mob of attackers if the village or town does not like their kind. This proves trouble for the Gaian race in the world and dangerous for travels.

Gaian's live in clans and live off of the forest or area they are in. They are herbivore and carnivore eating plants as well as meat. They live peacefully and have a small rivalry with Nepharians but strangely seem the best of friends aside from silly rivalries. Gaians are either domesticated by civilization by hiding or live free and wild spirited like Savages as some societies call them out in the wilds. Wild Gaian tends to be in a Natural Wolf form and have the ability to change into their Dire Form when predators or invaders of their territory threaten them. Gaians close by cities tend to be of the Humanoid Wolf form able to change into a larger primal version of them. They also tend to observe and watch humans from afar to learn their ways as well as traits and professions. Gaians some times leave clans to be adventurers and seek acceptance among other adventurers so they may see what is beyond the Woods they have lived their lives in.

Gaian's pray some day they can lift the curse of their brothers and sisters of the Dark Talon whom were once Verona noble Warrioristic Gaians who adored the World but were all captured and enslaved to serve the dark Will of the Evil force that tried to enter Everlynn. Gaians whom are tortured by the Dark Force and turned become Dark Talons to live a nightmare of passing their disease to humans as well as consuming the raw flesh of victims. Dark Talons work in corrupting the world and usually serve their Dark Clan or a Dark Master. Since the War is over Dark Talons roam freely usually seen as Dark fur or skin color Gaians with missing patches of fur that appear as a set of slashes across their chests.

The Gaians range in all sorts of hair, eye, and fur color. Gaians are mainly human looking and can pass off as humans except for their eyes, head, and fur covered bodies which seem some what Wolf like. They can Range from 4-7ft tall and are seen as that in their Guardian form. Gaian's in True form are 2ft taller than their humanoid forms and are quite broad and lengthy. They can run up to 60-90 Mph in their True Form by running on all fours or 70Mph on both legs. They can also jump twice the normal jumping height and distance of 10ft.

Quirk: Gaian are fun loving and peaceful but will fight when necessary. They are some times captured as to be made Guards or Sentries for other people. Yet they are natural protectors of their Clan, Clan Members, Friends, and Family. Gaians who witness harm or death of these Individuals or people Frenzy and some times as packs become unstoppable. If ever under the Full Moon's influence and unable to resist they Frenzy but if they are strong willed they will become stronger. Gaians are also highly protective of the balance in nature and woods.

Natural Race Abilities

Balance Vision: A Gaian can see both in light and Dark with little or no difficulty. They do not have trouble to drastic light changes but doesn’t make them immune to blind effects or magical darkness.

Natural Weapons: Gaians depending in their form varies their Ability of natural Weapon a Wolf that can change into Dire Form is a Dire Gaian and can do a Bite of 2d6 Damage but in Dire form perform a stronger bite. Gaians that have the Guardian Form can deal a normal 2d6 Damage with a claw or bite attack.

Dire Gaian: A Wolf that can change into the Dire Form, larger wolf form, can deals a bite of 2d10 and Tackle Attack of 2d10 +4 with its claws. They also get a natural 20% Armor that their hides are much tougher than normal.

Guardian Gaian: The humanoid Wolf form of a Guardian can become even strong as they take the Guardian Form. Only Guardian Gaians can equip traveling gear or equipment like regular Creatures A Guardians Bite is 4d6 Damage, Claws 3d6, and a Pounce Attack of 3d6 +4.

Alternate Form: Twice per day a Gaian can change to the opposite form of their kind. This form transformation is painfully and will deal 10 Dmg but will permit the Gaian who has but one form to change to the other. This is what differences them from a Dark Talon who can change into all these forms plus human form at will.

Grapple Skill: If Bite or Grab is successful a Gaian can grasp onto their target and continuing their Bite Damage until the opponent breaks free from the hold. Since Gaians have strong jaws it is a -3 to any Difficulty or Skill Check when trying to break free of a Gaians hold.

Favorite Armor: Light Armor such as leathers work for them. Due to Transforming into their True Form a Gaian is 2ft taller than their normal Height and broader some times destroying heavy armors or injuring themselves. Hence When in Wolf, Dire Wolf, or Guardian Form it’s best to Wear Light Armors or Breast plates to avoid trouble in size changes.

Favorite Weapon: A Gaian prefers to Attack with its Claws and Bite Attacks +3 ATR

Equipment Penalties: Heavy Armor not outfitted for Gaians True Form if they change they become vulnerable and suffer 30 Lethal Dmg breaking the Heavy Armor unless outfitted for Gaian size. (Mainly Metallic Armors)
