Gargoyles
Gargoyles are rather like humans in several ways living in the In appearance they look human but with leathery skin of any color some times baring horns on their heads. But the most common description of Gargoyles is the way they walk upright but on the balls of their feet with long thick tails and wings. These wings were not meant for Flying but gliding using the same principles as a glider would take to the air. They also have eyes like a human would but with a special lens to protect from irritation when swimming or in the air. There are also rumors of various types of gargoyles spanning from the sea and the Air but all is known are the type of gargoyles spoken. Also Gargoyles are enemies of the Drakin a Gargoyle Monster that is commonly mistaken as Gargoyles and appear more monstrous-like than human as normal gargoyles would be.
Race Abilities Quirk: Gargoyles are known to live deep in woods, undergrounds, mountains, caves, and deeper regions where humans and other races cannot disturb them. They are a bit precautious when having outsiders in their homes or clan but tend to be to themselves when in human atmospheres. Immune to Stone: Any Attack that is Stone base or turns them to stone a Gargoyle is immune to the Damage or Effect. This is because they can turn to stone at will and this effect negates much of this. Stone Work: When a Gargoyle turns to stone they need but 4 hrs of sleep rather than 8 for a full nights rest. Also in this form of sleep they recover from any status infliction after their 4 hrs of rest. Also anyone looking for the Gargoyle must make a Disguise Check Difficulty 16 to see if the Gargoyle is the real thing and not some stone work. When set around Stone worked areas the difficulty increase to a 20 making it hard to spot them. Also while in stone any damage dealt to the Gargoyle is reduced by half since when they change they are solid rock. Also any item they have on them will turn to stone as well as to mask who they are. Equipment: Gargoyles can equip any item but Heavy Armor due to the fact that Heavy Armor prevents them from using their wings since they are full suits of armor of metal and would make them to heavy to glide in the air. Gliding: A Gargoyle must jump from a high height or their must be wind in order to glide through the air. As long as these conditions are met a Gargoyle can move 5ft in distance or height with at least a movement of 2. In attempts to avoid structure a Gargoyle can make a Reflex Check Difficulty 16 to avoid them or use DR to avoid Combat base projectiles. Also a Gargoyle can fly up to speeds of 20 – 60 mph since they can only glide as fast as the wind can carry them. Natural Armor: Their skin is like rocky leather getting a natural Armor of 20% making them quite durable. This Armor also helps reduce any fire damage on top of the fact if turned to stone in a blazing fire they suffer no damage. Natural Flaw: Gargoyles are susceptible to lightning damage and take an additional 5 Damage or 1 round when hit by lightning effects. Natural Weapons: Gargoyles have rough claws made for climbing and piercing rock. They deal 2d12 Damage as well as their tails can deal 2d6 Damage Bashing. Their bite isn’t very effective but deals a d8 +2 Damage. Climber: On Athletic Rolls to Climb a Gargoyle gets +4 to any Athletic skill Check that is Climb base. Also on any stone surface a Gargoyle can climb and walk on it on all fours as if he or she were a spider making it unnecessary for climb checks on stone walls. Balance Vision: Gargoyles can see in both light and dark perfectly with out a problem. Because of this they are able to visualize targets in the dark as if day and vice versa. Though they are not subterranean Gargoyles build and carve caves out of their huge claws requiring this vision to perfectly sculpt works of stone into their cave wall.
