Death
In this
page you will read, understand, and abide by the rules of death. Death happens
in life and in make-believe since death in a game makes no challenge at all.
Don’t think death of your character as a means of quitting but trying again
and not making the mistakes you made last time. Maybe the stats you made for
that character was just not right or it could be that dice was against you.
Isn’t dicey a bitch. Death in the any land comes to all Players there are no
exceptions to anyone even GM characters are susceptible of this. But we aren’t
with out kindness so we have given you opportunities to save your character that
is fair enough isn't it? Now remember the final outcome is at a Dm’s
Discretion or the Owner once you used up these chances then that’s it fin,
finite, Game over man Game Over.
How to handle about death of your character is easy I hope it isn’t too
harsh for players but remember this simple phrase “we all live once and die
fighting” self killing by suicide or X-ing off your character is your own
decision. Because of this you will not be allowed to resurrect this character.
Think like god you got one chance and you just threw it away…like heaven will
give you another chance. Now as for self hits that kill your own character or
another player accidentally killed you that is the discretion of the Active Gm
who is running the Quest or Event each Host/Gm is different so let’s also not
play the parent game by heading to one Gm get decline and try another. That will
definitely not get your character back. It is the discretion of that host and
the host sets the Trigger if is Perm Death, Temporary, or No deaths. Depending
on how a Host sets the parameters of Death in their adventures determines the
Death of your character.
As said before you get several opportunities to bring back your character
and here is a list of them. These are the only ways to bring back your character
or another character from Death. For a quick example another character may pay
the fine to bring you back.
#1
The Golden Rule is that everyone gets at least 1 Free Rez no matter how
far the player has played or how shortly they have played. Characters that are
new can resurrect as often as needed until a month has passed. This means a
month from their registration they can resurrect as often as needed but once a
month has passed the character can no longer get multiple free resurrects and
can no longer be Rez but once for Free.
#2
After loosing the Free Rez usually under the Characters Back Ground the
Words (Death: 1 at Month / Day / Year) will appear meaning that the free
Resurrect after the month has been used. A character may spend their own gold or
some one can bring them back by paying services by a local Cleric to bring them
back. Of coarse this will cost a fee of 1,000 Gold to bring their character back
to life, Fairly Cheap right? But know that a Character can only be brought back
once this way. This will be called (Death: 2 Month / Day / Year <Paid 1,000
Denare>
#3
Last and finally If you use up all these opportunities to bring back your
character you have a last chance to send an email to us Role playing a letter
you have written to your deity asking another chance at life. If your Deity
finds your words reasonable to permit you life then it shall be granted but
remember this letter is determined by your role play factor and if your Deity is
reasonable and satisfied to your homage and accomplishments. A
Letter to your deity should contain your name, how you died, some back
ground of recent accomplishments and history, and a reason why your deity should
bring you back to life. When doing this a Certain Boon is made with you and your
deity and they may ask you to perform a service or recall when they need a favor
from you for you to do so. Once this boon is paid your character is debt free.
#4
Once these chances has been used up its game over for the character so
keep that in mind. 1-2-3 Strikes and your out. Also read Death rules below to
understand ways and rules of Death for your character. If you still want your
character alive please send us an email to reasons why and if so desired please
state what benefits can your character give as a Dakar to the World of Everlynn.
Death
Rules
These rules
are specific rules based on certain actions you or other characters act upon.
These rules are to be followed no matter what the result.
Temporary
Death> Normally when a character dies in a quest they are dead but are
able to be resurrected either by item, spells, or by using one of the three
listed above opportunities to revive from death. Also under host discretion a
Host may decide in Temporary Death the character is resurrected at the end of
the Quest freely with out worry. This is the Host discretion to resurrect a
player freely in a temporary quest and is more likely used in Temporary Death
Quests.
Permanent
Death> Some quests have certain locations or triggers that will cause
Permanent Death thus a Host may state the quest has a possibility of Permanent
Death. However Permanent Death Quests tend to offer x2 the Exp and have several
Rewards like a lot of gold or some rare items. However in Permanent Death Quests
a Character Death is Permanent thus the only options they will have are the
three opportunities to bring back their character.
No
Deaths> During these type of adventures a character cannot die and is
always brought back at the end or during the quest. These quests are great for
beginners or other players who wish to acquire easy rewards of exp and money.
When a character dies they either must wait at the end of a quest to be brought
back or the Host may describe how the character gets back up even though the hit
should have killed him. Of course these are under host discretion and a player
should listen on the rule sets and triggers the host describes in the No-Death
Adventure.
Resurrect
Items and Spells> There are other means to bring a fellow character back
is by using Items, Spells, or specified abilities to bring back fallen comrades.
This allows opportunity to avoid the Host having to Deal with Deaths and
preserves a fellow character or on a character's own act save them. Some times
it’s best to stock on these items for yourself and other characters.
PvP
Deaths> When during a quest a player decides to attack a player in
attempts to kill them or Attack it is called a Player Versus Player situation.
To further understand details of PvP see Game Rules for details. Here we will
discuss PvP Death where if the attacker or the one being attacked is killed. The
Attacker who initiates the attack most automatically consent that they risk
their character's life and if they die it is a permanent death. If the one who
initiated PvP is killed they will only have the three options or the character
can be permanently killed. This is determined by the host as well as they permit
the PvP. The one being attacked by the person initiating PvP is killed can use
all three options and if they so desire the Host can permit an opportunity to be
brought back during the quest or after but if they are killed they are still
permitted normal actions to be brought back via items or abilities. The same can
be done for a PvP persons death they can be brought back via items or abilities
by another person.
Brought
back to Life> Each individual has a chance to be brought back via item or
abilities and there are requirements for them to be brought back. Such examples
are vital organs with out them the character cannot be brought back
appropriately and would still be dead. Spells or certain Race abilities may
permit regeneration which will nullify the rule since Regeneration restores even
vital organs. If a character misses a limb they can be brought back with out it
but it will handicap them unless the limb is brought back to the body and then
brought back. This also applies to vital organs that are still intact and
brought back to the body allowing the character to be brought back with out
trouble.
Temple
Services> Incase of Death, Scars, Permanent Penalties, or Lost of Limbs a
Temple located in the Capitol City Camille can restore normal character
functions for a fee. This allows players to restore their character at their own
pace so they can not worry of long permanent penalties unless the temple is
unable to. This can be by Owner or Host Discretion and normally they will let
you know during the incident or after the event so the player can understand and
know what they need to do for their character.
